Phathom currently markets VOQUEZNA® (vonoprazan) tablets for the treatment of heartburn associated with Non-Erosive GERD in adults, the healing and maintenance of healing of Erosive GERD in adults and associated heartburn in adults, as well as VOQUEZNA® TRIPLE PAK® (vonoprazan tablets, amoxicillin capsules, clarithromycin tablets) and VOQUEZNA® DUAL PAK® (vonoprazan tablets, amoxicillin capsules) for the treatment of H. pylori infection in adults. In addition, the company is also advancing its development program across multiple acid-related GI disorders, including As Needed dosing for Non-Erosive GERD and Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE). Manager, Market Access Operations
As a member of the Market Access team, the Manager of Market Access Operations will play a key role in the strategic and tactical execution of the business plans for Phathom products. This role is a hybrid role with responsibilities split between contract management and payer marketing. Contract management will involve assessing existing and potential payer agreements, working with 3rd party processing partner on claim management, analyzing data to ensure alignment with terms and conditions of contracts and working with finance on GTN accounting and reporting. The Manager will also work on various payer marketing projects. The manager will collaborate with brand marketing, HEOR and access team members to evaluate progress of existing marketing strategy and tactics and suggest new options. The manager will also provide support to Phathom’s Patient Assistance programs and evaluate new programs to enhance the business. This Manager will collaborate cross functionally working closely with Phathom leadership in Market Access, Finance, Brand Marketing, Sales & Sales Operations, Legal and Insights & Analytics. The role will report to the Sr. Director, Market Access Strategy & Operations and will have high visibility throughout the organization.
Accountabilities
- Interpret contract language and have a thorough understanding of PBM networks and contractual verbiage as stated in account agreements
- Provide review of all rebate claim documents for accuracy and completeness and lead dispute resolution with our 3rd party vendor
- Understands formularies and can interpret rebate eligibility requirementsAnalyzes and resolves disputes with accounts involving contract interpretation or processing issues; engages Account Team or other internal teams as neededCoordinate with market access team to support strategy development, implementation, and execution
- Have knowledge of and support the execution of all Phathom patient support programs such as OOP assistance, PAP, or PA support programs
- Partner with Brand Marketing & Agencies to provide necessary promotional and pull through tools and messages to support account team engagement on brand payer initiatives.
- Become subject matter expert for Account Team analytics, MMIT Analytics and Radar platforms
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects as requiredEnsures alignment with internal teams (Insights & Analytics, Legal & Compliance, Marketing Team, Sales) to identify and execute on market access needs
- Manage Phathom budgets and resources appropriately
- Provide direct support to the Sr. Director Market Access Strategy & Operations
This is a hybrid role, requiring some in-office in Florham Park NJ (departmentally driven) presence and some at-home flexibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience, with at least 3 years working at a Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical organization preferred
- 1 year experience in Market Access operations or Finance team working with managed care commercial rebates preferred, or contracting
- Solid understanding of contracts and contract terms including knowledge of contracting for brand pharmaceuticals
- Understanding of US payer channels, pricing dynamics and contracting within commercial and government channels
- Ability to operate with a “roll-up-your-sleeves” mindset and excel in a fast-paced, startup company environmentExperience working with or managing third-party vendors and contractor relationships
- Basic knowledge of the competitive landscape of PBMs, GPOs and formulary coverage
- Understanding of patient support programs like co-pay cards, OOP support options and policies and programs for prior authorization support.
- Track record of applying strong analytical skills to enhance decision-making.
- Strong ability to review and identify issues and opportunities in the business
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Intermediate to advanced skill in Microsoft Excel (extensive experience with pivot tables and vlookup)
- Excellent oral/written communications skills and interpersonal skills
