About the Role
The Account Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of the financial and fundraising plans of their assigned political and/or nonprofit client accounts to achieve the highest level of success in raise goals. The Account Manager reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the organization's other Account Manager(s). Operating as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to your accounts, a high level of autonomy and trust is held with the role. Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships is of the utmost importance – not only to raise as much as possible for our clients but to help continue the growth and expansion of the company. The role supervises junior staff and interns working directly with the accounts for which the Account Manager is responsible and is expected to be able to give up-to-date and accurate assessments of the current client standing when syncing with the executive staff of the company.
The Account Manager role can be broken into three overlying tasks:
Direct Donor Interactions
- Texting -- Responsible for using TextThrough to activate grassroots donors through text messages. Draft texts, upload lists, distribute text campaigns, and conduct all follow-up communications.
- Making Donor Calls -- Making calls to any donor necessary across a variety of cohorts.
- One-to-one donor meetings -- At times, we will attend one-to-one donor meetings with the principal and the client. Comprehensive prep for our clients ahead of these meetings to ensure clear objectives, touchpoints, and talking points to further the benefit of our client. Sending action items after the meeting ensures all parties are reminded of commitments.
Client Interface
- Call Time --The AM is responsible for working with assigned campaigns, either with the candidates or campaign managers, to implement calls to prospective donors. To successfully accomplish this task, the AM pulls the donor list and determines which prospective donors are appropriate for each client. The AM manages the time with the client on the call, makes notes, and follows up on commitments and pledges.
- Events -- Responsible for event logistics, facilitating, managing, and housekeeping.
Behind the Scene Activities
- Host Committee Management and Recruitment -- Responsible for ensuring that all host and host committees are provided the tools to execute their roles.
- Recruit hosts from the donor list of past event hosts and increase host committee results by providing support and coaching. Responsible for ensuring that host and host committees are provided with all the necessary t tools to execute their roles at the highest level to maximize fundraising efforts. At times, organize calls with host committee members and provide training and coaching to achieve success.
- Managing data with comprehensive trackers -- Responsible for maintaining all trackers, and updating them in near real-time based on fundraising results.
- Email marketing -- Drafting emails for the campaigns’ digital programs that need supplementation or support while working seamlessly alongside the digital team(s) for said campaigns or organizations.
- Managing the totality of the donor call process -- Responsible for managing the donor process being executed by the interns and team members making donor calls. This includes the creation of scripts, strategizing and cultivating contact lists, and effectively and proactively delegating the lists to each intern and team member.
Requirements
Experience
- Experience leading, strategizing, and directing fundraising plans for at least one to two full-cycle federal or state legislative campaigns or large-scale, $10MM+ 501(c)3 or 501(c)4 organizations.
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in political science.
Knowledge of - and experience using - NGP.
Extensive experience as a Call Time Manager on statewide or federal campaigns while managing call time managers or phone banks.
Must be highly organized and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
They can work autonomously with little oversight while taking ownership of their clients and representing the company with the utmost professionalism.
A high level of attention to detail and understanding of the importance of accurate tracking, logging, and deliverables.
Outstanding technological skills, including but not limited to Google Drive and other political platforms – as well as video webinar software – are essential.
An innovative self-starter, able to work with a wide variety of people and prioritize and handle various projects across multiple degrees of complexity.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently while being a team player and keeping all necessary parties in the loop with current status updates, metrics, and high-level touchpoints.
- Highly organized, with a solid attention to detail.
- Ability to work with candidates and a wide variety of campaign staff across varying levels of experience.
- Working knowledge of marketing tools - specifically CANVA.
- Strong comfort working within the Google Suite.
- Proficient in ActBlue and NGP fundraising software.
- Proficient in organizing platforms such as Mobilize and Numero.
- Proficient experience working with NGP and NationBuilder CRM.
- Able to use various texting software platforms, such as Hustle and ThruText.
